This fall I will be taking two courses to keep filling in those knowledge gaps. If you are not familiar with MOOC's (Massive Open Online Course) they are usually free courses taught by certified instructors and institutions on every topic in life. I've learned from past experience to take a minimum amount of courses (there are SO MANY to chose from)! I limit myself to no more than 2-4 a year. That just helps me with adding extra to my workload. I decided to find a course in gaming and work/life balance. Here's what I found:
I was interested in taking this course because my job has developed a virtual game to learn about the library. We had a game consultant visit us from a university and told us if we could play it on paper, you can then build digitally. I figured if I could understand better game play at basic level than I can build to understanding more about game design.
As a newly wed, I am always curious on how to better manage the work/life balance. I'm excited to learn a few things and hope to improve job/home productivity.
I can't wait to tell you how the courses are going!
